Big Cellar (Großer Keller)

The Big Cellar, which was built in 1912/14 in connection with the Mädler-Arcade, mainly dishes of the home-made and Saxon kitchen and beer accompanying dishes are served.
„Bowls upon the table“ is maxim during the weekends and holidays because here, good solid home cooking with family-friendly prices comes upon the tables, for which is often no time at home.
International dishes perfect our historical restaurant’s offer as you are able to infer from the menu „Big Cellar“.
Our show kitchen with a shallow braising pan and roasting spit as well as our open bar present you our complete offer of dishes and drinks.
SALON HELENA & ANTON MÄDLER
The salons „Helena“ and „Anton Mädler“ are connectes with the „Big Cellar“. While the name of the salon „Helena“ reminds of the probably most beautiful woman of the antique, the salon „Anton Mädler“ was named after the famous „luggage king“
Historical Cask Cellar (Historische Weinstuben)

Because of the mentioning of the Cask Cellar in Goethe’s classic work “Faust” one can claim that it is probably the most well-known restaurant of Germany. The room is to find exactly the same as generations of guests found it before and after Goethe’s time.
Restaurant “Goethe Room”

In this historical wine bar, our offers mainly consist of with noble wine harmonizing dishes of higher class. Especially the gourmets enjoy themselves with our every 14 days changing menu. A previous agreement on the menu is necessary with a party of more than 10 people.
